Welcome to Sacred Heart Soccer or for the tradionalists Football!
Sacred Heart Football has a long history of helping our school community experience the joy of football by making it simple, fun and rewarding.
Smiling, developing, team work, celebrating and a sense of community…. This is our aim each weekend for our SHM football players.
We focus on learning new skills, being active, making life-long friends and potentially, unearthing the next generation of Socceroos or Matildas.
Boys and Girls from Kindergarten to Year 6 play in teams on Saturday mornings in the competition run by the Northern Suburbs Football Association (NSFA).
The NSFA oversees community football in the northern suburbs region of Sydney. The NSFA have 30 member clubs and 16,00 players.
SHM Teams will play against other clubs and schools within the NSFA region which stretches from the Lower North Shore to Hornsby.
Games take place on Saturday mornings and the season is generally aligned with Terms 2 and 3 of school and runs for 18 weeks (with a couple of weekends free during school holidays )and a Gala Day to finish!
Game times vary from week to week but kick-off times are generally between 8.30am to 11.40am. There is no training during school holidays.
ALDI MiniRoos football encompasses Under 6’s to Under 11’s, and is designed for all kids of all abilities. This nation-wide initiative, with players taking part in small-sided games with modified field sizes and playing numbers.
As a player progresses through the MiniRoos age groups the field size increases as well as player numbers, preparing them eventually for the full size field version of 11v11 football that we see being played in the A-League every weekend.
*Once you enter the Under 12 age group, you will be playing on a full field – 11 v 11 with match duration ranging from 35-45 minute halves.
For detailed information on playing formats and rules please click here (pdf files that I have included).
Training is at Middle Head Oval on Thursday afternoons at either 3:45 to 4:45 or 5:00 to 6:00. Once teams are organised your will be advised your training time. All equipment for training (including balls) will be provided.
